We use the woocommerce.com plugin, this is so we can create a subscription package on the website. A subscription package is needed so that we can take payments each year for your account.

woocommerce.com use stripe to process payments – complete the subscription. The minimum amount of data is collected at the time the subscription is set up. This data is needed for stripe to recognise the order. Sending less data to stipe could result in the order being seen as fraudulent and refused by stripe. Resulting in you not being able to list your property.

How customer payment details are stored when using Subscriptions and Stripe.

The customer’s details are stored in Stripe. WooCommerce stores what’s called a “payment token” on the subscription. This is a unique string of numbers and letters that is meaningless on its own, but, when connected to Stripe, locates the customer’s credit card details. In this way, the customer’s payment info can be stored in a way that doesn’t expose it to security risks.

We may share this information with any legal authorities that may ask for the data held on yourself.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Consent: the individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose.

By signing up the website you give your consent for ListDirect to store your data.

  • Contract:the processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

In order to list/advertise your holiday let we have to collect the data listed above to be able to set up a subscription package. Sending less data to stipe could result in the order being seen as fraudulent and refused by stripe. Resulting in you not being able to list your property.

  • Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party, unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data which overrides those legitimate interests. (This cannot apply if you are a public authority processing data to perform your official tasks.)
