Cicely’s Place has a fairly unusual layout; you enter the property and head straight up a flight of carpeted stairs, when you reach the top you will see another set of stairs heading downstairs to the back of the property, while staying on the first floor, you will find all the living areas of the property.

At Cicely’s Place we are very aware that COVID-19 has turned everyone’s world upside down and life as we know it has changed. Travel is uncertain, even in the UK, therefore we have a hassle free cancellation policy.

Cicely’s Place is situated on a quiet residential street and offering plenty of on-street parking, Cicely’s place is a charming upstairs two-bedroom self catering holiday property, resting in the village of Seaton Sluice, just outside of Whitley Bay on the Northumberland Coast.

Ideal for a couple or small family wanting to enjoy the North East of England, you’re spoilt for choice with coastline, areas of outstanding natural beauty and a thriving city all in close proximity.

Built in the 1920’s, this upstairs flat has been in our family since the 1950’s. Previously the flat was occupied by our Grandparents Edward (Eddy) and Cicely Coulson.

Initially Eddy and Cicely lived at No 24 Queens Road but whilst the street was being modernised (removing the outside toilet and building an inside bathroom) they moved into the fully refurbished flat at No 20. Here they stayed.

The flat is named after our Grandmother Cicely as she had a huge influence on our lives and we have very fond memories of her and about the life lessons she taught us.

The village of Seaton Sluice sits at the mouth of the Seaton Burn river, and also has its own beach and Dene, along with a host of attractions like the 18th century mansion and grounds of Seaton Delaval Hall and the lighthouse at St Mary’s Island.

The seaside resort of Whitley Bay is just three miles away, while the thriving and cosmopolitan city of Newcastle is in driving distance, offering an endless choice of shops, cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants.

Cicely’s Place is a well-located property for exploring the coast, countryside and thriving cities of the North East of England.

There are several local areas near to Seaton Sluice to visit such as:- Amble (Marina and Boat Trips. Bamburgh (Castle), Blyth (Golf Course/Phoenix Theatre), Bedlington, Cramlington, Hexham, Morpeth (Kirkley Hall Cafe/Zoo, Whitehouse Farm Petting Zoo), Newcastle upon Tyne, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay to name just a few… Alnwick and Alnwick Castle/Gardens, home of Harry Potter is also a short journey away for a great day out.

However you do have the Beach and Dene on your doorstep to enjoy.

The generously sized bathroom the first room you will discover; decorated with stylish grey tiles, there is a generously sized walk-in-shower, where you can begin to get ready for each day.

Bedrooms – Master and Twin
There are two generously-sized bedrooms, each with a TV and plenty of storage space for your belongings, comprising of a master double bedroom and a twin room with zip/link feature.

Living/Dining Area
The cozy living/dining area has a dining table and seating for four, the perfect place to enjoy home cooked meals together, while you can relax on the sofa or one of the two armchairs as you sit back and watch TV or enjoy playing one of the provided board games, while the electric fire fills the room with warmth.

Kitchen
The galley-style kitchen offers plenty of space to cook up a storm, with all the necessary appliances and amenities to assist you, there is even a breakfast bar, should you choose to enjoy your meal or morning coffee in here instead.

Courtyard
Heading down the stairs to the ground floor, you will find an enclosed courtyard with a bistro table and seating, should you wish to dine alfresco.
