The Shippen, Markwell Farm Holiday Cottages
Markwell Farm Holiday Cottages are near Landrake in South East Cornwall. Four cottages situated on a tranquil 400 acre working Cornish farm in the Tamar Valley ANOB. The cottages, which sleep between 2 and 6 people, have been tastefully converted from two 18th century stone barns. Each has the benefit of outstanding south-facing views of some of the finest countryside in Cornwall which also includes areas of SSSI.
Walk on the farm or venture a little further. Markwell farm is the perfect location to explore South Devon and Cornwall. Plymouth and Saltash are a short drive away. Take a walk on the magnificent South West Coastal path or the Moors of Bodmin and Dartmoor. Visit the smugglers towns of Looe and Polperro; National Trust houses of Cothele, Anthony, Saltram and Lanhydrock. The Bodmin and Wenford steam railway is a great day out for all the family or have fun on the beaches of Looe, Seaton, Downderry and Whitsand Bay.
Markwell Farm is the perfect location for couples and small families wanting to explore the wonderful South West of England. Dogs are accepted in some cottages but not during July or August. The spectacular Moors of Dartmoor and Bodmin are nearby and on a clear day you can see for miles. With many scenic roads, lanes and beautiful countryside, your car journeys will show you the parts of Devon and Cornwall you will want to explore.
These lovingly converted cottages have retained many of their original features. They have a wonderful south facing gardens with views over farmland to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine . These cottages are a relaxing place to return after a days sight seeing. Matthew and Allison are passionate about the area, live on the farm only a few metres from the cottages and take great pride in ensuring their guests have an enjoyable stay.
Two of the cottages are on a single level, suitable for those less mobile.
The cottages are situated on a quiet rural lane, yet are easily accessible from the A38, offering an ideal base all year round.
Min 3 nights in low season, 7 nights from Easter until October with a Saturday changeover day.
