Rill House is the perfect holiday location in the heart of Slapton to relax with family or friends, where we welcome unlimited dogs to enjoy their holiday as much as you do. As dog owners, we do not have any restrictions on dog numbers or breeds and they are welcome in every room in the house and on sofas with throws. A Grade II listed holiday house on a quiet pretty lane in the heart of the picturesque village of Slapton, in South Devon with a huge, enclosed garden, large, enclosed courtyard with private parking. Lovingly refurbished cottage full of character features and providing extensive space for guests, both indoors and out.

Slapton Village has a community village shop two food-serving, children and dog welcoming pubs just half a mile from the spectacular 3 miles long all year-round dog-friendly beach of Slapton Sands that curves around Start Bay and is backed by an extraordinary freshwater lagoon, Slapton Ley, a nature reserve.

Drive through the double gates into the South facing private courtyard, let everyone out of the car and relax as you are in a private enclosed space. The sound of our stream and bird song provide a background soundtrack making this an ideal spot for summer barbecues and soaking up the sun. To your right is the entrance to the house straight into the kitchen diner. To your right across our footbridge is the stunning, huge, enclosed garden, a perfect location for dogs and children to play.

Enter the house from your private South facing courtyard into the well-equipped farmhouse style kitchen-breakfast room with built-in electric ‘range’ double oven, large American style fridge freezer, double Belfast sink, dishwasher, microwave, Tassimo coffee machine (bring your own capsules), Amazon Echo, dining table to seat 8- and 3-seater sofa.

Leading off from the kitchen is a utility room with a Belfast sink, washing machine, and tumble dryer. We find it is the perfect place to feed our 3 dogs.

The dual aspect living room is designed for relaxing and socialising with comfy sofas, TV/DVD, and fireplace with wood burner stove for cosy nights in. A separate adjoining dining room is designed for enjoying great food and company while the spacious kitchen breakfast room is perfect for casual dining and eating.

The snug has games and books for all ages, including 2 exclusively designed play boards for younger guests, and a selection of outdoor games is kept in the under stairs storage.

Cloakroom with WC and hanging space for coats.

All four bedrooms are also generous in size, all have TVs and all enjoy views across the village to the church with window seats to sink in the views. On the first floor Master bedroom has a kingsize bed, built-in wardrobe, and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 with kingsize bed, wardrobe, and chest of drawers. Bathroom with bath with shower over (and a handheld shower), basin, and WC. On the second floor bedroom 3 with kingsixe bed, built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers, vaulted ceiling with exposed timbers. Bedroom 4 with twin beds, wardrobe, and chest of drawers, vaulted ceiling with exposed timbers. Shower room with walk-in shower cubicle, basin, and WC.

We provide two highchairs, travel cots, and a stair gate for guests with younger children.

Our part of South Devon has so many wonderful dog-friendly beaches, the SW Coastal Path is just outside the village and Dartmoor National Park is just a short drive away. Castles, boat trips, steam trains to name just a few local attractions. Independent retail and food shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants are all easily accessed. We have created an online guide for the house and the local area, just ask me for the link or it is on our website.

We offer full week holidays all year around and we are always happy to answer any questions so you know that we are your perfect holiday location.
